Day 52: One think I learned today…

These energy bars are so darn good. So good that I asked my husband to take them to work with him so I do not eat them all.

2 cups oats

1 cup unsweetened coconut flakes

1/2 cup almonds

1/2 cup pecans

1/2 cup sesame seeds

1/2 cup pumpkin seeds

1/2 cup chopped dates

1 cup natural peanut butter

1/2 cup tahini

1 cup honey

1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix together dry ingredients, heat pb, honey, and tahini until melted, stir in vanilla and add to dry mix. Spread on cookie sheet (1 in thick) Bake approximately 15 minutes at 350.

This will probably come as no surprise but I wanted to share :) because I know if these bad boys stayed close by and in sight I would have a hard time moderating my consumption.

Visibility and proximity of food influences intake.

A study was conducted on the consumption of candy. Participants included 40 adult secretaries. Results indicated that the participants ate an average of 2.2 more candies each day when they were visible, and 1.8 candies more when they were proximately placed on their desk vs. 2 m away.
