Balance is Bullshit

Day 50: One think I learned today…


Today we had a great conversation during a social spin group ride. The subject of Balance came up. I’ve been feeling guilty because I am not doing well balancing. As a triathlete, I obviously need to focus on swim, bike, run but right now I am focusing most of my time on yoga, meditation breath work and strength training. The coach then said “Balance is Bullshit” Although she had a much smoother way in staying this. What it boils down to is... certain times we may put more focus on one area in our life AND THAT IS OKAY! As long as we do not completely allow other areas to totally get left behind.


We then discussed the quote “how you do anything is how you do everything”. This is something I’ve struggled with for a while. I recently have made a career shift. I was not putting 100% into my career and honestly was putting more into my training. I just didn’t have the passion I once had and I knew I wasn’t being of service anymore. I just know I want to put more into my relationships and self care than I do a job. This may not be coming across exactly as I want it to. Don’t get me wrong I am a hard worker but I do not want to be married to my job. So that being said I really learned from the quote “balance is bullshit”.
