Be Gentle with Yourself

Day 33: One thing I learned today…

Over the past few weeks I have provided information about adopting a positive mindset and being optimistic. Yes, I truly believing in the research behind this work HOWEVER I want to make if very clear that you should also let yourself FEEL your feelings. I have a tendency to push away the uncomfortable feelings. How about you? Can you relate? Maybe some stress eating? or Netflix binge?

Throughout January I had few discomforting situations arise. During this time I allowed myself to experience how I felt. I was frustrated (actually, no I was PISSED), a bit judgmental, sad, confused and I had a bit of a pity party for myself. I felt ungrounded. I allowed myself to feel this and then I incorporated some self care techniques. I was gentle with myself. I did not push myself. I allowed myself some extra sleep. I wrote in my gratitude journal and I slowly started to ground myself.

It’s okay to allow yourself to feel.
