Day 203: One thing I learned today…

Eating fatty fish could help with migraines.

Fatty fish contains omega 3 fatty acids. A diet lower in omega-6 and higher in levels of omega-3 fatty acids and DHA found in fatty fish could soothe the pain pathway inflammation.

Most Americans eat more omega 6 fats than omega 3 fats, on average about 10 times more.

Whats the difference? Omega 3 fats are found in oily fish such as salmon, herring, mackerel, and sardines, fish oil, flaxseed oil, flaxseeds, walnuts, and chia seeds (to name a few). Omega 6 fats are found in highly processed foods and oils.

Omega 3 fat help fight inflammation whereas Omega 6 fats can cause inflammation.
