Day 10: One thing I learned today…


Sleep is so important! This is something I have known for a while as well as one of the main focuses I have for my own optimal heath. I struggle with getting adequate sleep. Dr. Matthew Walker, author of Why We Sleep, provided many facts in the Trained podcast today. I highly recommend you listen to this one as it is loaded with facts. Did you know if an individual get 5-6 hours of sleep, the time to physical exhaustion will decrease by about 10-30%? The example given was that a runner training for a 10k will get exhausted by 7k if sleep was not adequate. Another fact I found interesting was one’s ability to cool the body down through sweat is impaired when lacking sleep. Go get some ZZZs!
