How often is your mind wandering?

Our minds are wandering 46% of the time. Does this surprise you? Do you catch yourself thinking about the future or caught up in the past? According to this study, “Mind wandering occurred in 46.9% of the samples” across 2250 adults. The study also revealed that people were less happy when their mind was wondering compared to when it was not.

I am trying to focus on being in the present moment. Enjoying what I am doing while limiting distractions.



Mindfulness practices such as yoga can help decrease a wandering mind. Over the past 6 months I have added meditation into my morning routine. I am not 100% consistent with this however I have experienced benefits. Something else I learned today was that the app Insight Timer has a free group Mindful Morning Challenge which started today and run through the entire month.
