Day 47: One thing I Learned today...
If you are anything like myself, you have probably mentioned needing to allow you self a moment to just breathe here and there?!? But do you actually do this for yourself?
Over the weekend, I was introduced to the idea of actually setting a timer, and completely stopping everything for a few moments and breathing. Sounds so simple and it can be.
Today I decided to use the Insight Timer app. I selected a bell/tone which was pleasant and set it for every 27minutes. No reason behind that specific time. Now there were a few times I muted the app throughout the day due to obligations however it ran for over 12 hours. Every time the bell rang, I stopped what I was doing, put down any items in my hands, closed my eyes and took 3 deep breaths. Sometimes I would make a small gratitude statement such as “I am happy to see the sun” or incorporate some small movements. Throughout the day I felt grounded. I also realized how fast 27 minutes can go by. Why don’t you give it a try?
