Day 292: One thing I learned today…

Today is National Period Day!

I know, I know, it seems as if there is a national everything day. Tacos, chili, donuts, you name it. But in all seriousness, this is an important topic. Many women have irregularities when it comes to menstruation and not many people are taking about it.

Period poverty includes inadequate access to menstrual necessities and menstrual hygiene products. An organization, Period, helps support those in need and distributed over 5,000,000 menstrual products to those in need in 2020. This group also provides education and resources.

There are several amazing books out there around women’s health:

In the Flo by Alisa Vitti

Beyond the Pill by Jolene Brighten

The Period Repair Manual by Lara Briden ND

The Fifth Vital Sign by Lisa Henderickson- Jack
