Day 101: One thing I learned today…
I am continuing to learn the importance of realistic expectations. Specifically, the expectations I put on myself. I have been pretty down on myself for not getting everything done on my to-do list over the past several weeks/months. Then, I finally realized this was due to unrealistic expectations I had of myself.
Over the past two weeks, I have been much more gentle with myself and the amount of tasks I can complete in a week. I created a challenging but manageable to-do list for myself and I was able to complete both each week. Just because of this, my willingness to tackle some projects was higher. This small change in the way I look at my day to day tasks has given me relief. Also, I am going to look at my list and rename it my “get to-do” list because I am grateful for many of the opportunities I have.
As for today, I just returned home from my weekend of yoga teacher training. Between the Yoga Anatomy, Teaching Lab, Yoga Methodology and Humanities Lectures I have gained so much knowledge in the last 48 hours. As much as I want to share ALL the things I have learned. I am going to allow myself to absorb and rest. This is the most realistic expectation I could have for myself for tonight.
