Smartphones reduce smiles…

Day 81: One thing I learned today…

A study done by Elizabeth Dunn from the University of British Columbia showed that in a waiting room full of people those on their phones smiled 30% less of the time. Participants in the phoneless condition on average spent about 2 minutes and 30 seconds smiling during a 10-minute period.

Being constantly connected to the digital world may make us less social and smile less.

I am super guilty of using my phone every time I am in a waiting room. Not sure I will change this behavior either 🤪
