Day 20: One thing I learned today...
Pre-Covid, between 2016-2017, telemedicine grew 53 percent according to the American Medical Association and is thought to grow 19 percent annually over the next 5 years.
This growth is allowing individuals access to healthcare who may not have had access before. Although there continues to be barriers for some (such as access to devices and internet services and funding).
I wanted to share a few resources which I have been introduced to as well in case you are seeking out different types of virtual services.
Sofia Health is an online platform connecting you with coaches, practitioners and physicians
in multiple wellness areas. You can go to the website and select the service you are looking for ranging from healing, sports, nutrition, beauty, pregnancy, etc.. A list of providers will be given per category and you can read their bio and see prices up front. This is an out of pocket service.
StedyMD is a membership based online health services and primary care. After collecting some information from you such as what type of doctor you are looking for as well as your interests, StedyMD will suggest a handful of doctors for you to choose from. Memberships are paid out of pocket around $99/month. You have unlimited appointments and the doctor will spend up to an hour with your.
When I went through the process, I was given a choice between a few doctors who had similar interests to me such as a functional medicine doctor, gluten free diet, lifts weights, triathlete, and meditates for stress reduction.
