Day 91: One thing I learned today...
As I continue on my journey to become well & happy, I’ve come across some research on motivation. First off what is motivation anyways?!? According to the Oxford dictionary, motivation is the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way. I am reading a book titled, No Sweat: How the Simple Science of Motivation Can Bring You a Lifetime of Fitness by Michelle Segar, PhD.
Throughout this book The author focuses on finding the right “why”. I’ve been intrigued by the research. As I make my way through this the book, I will share info I find to be interesting. One thing that I learned today was according to Statistic Brain, “Gym Membership Statistics.” An estimated 67% of gym memberships go unused. No one sets out to sign up for a membership just to not use it. So what is going on here? Most likely, the “why” behind the purchase of the membership is important. What are some goals you have and why?
